Mushroom Identification: Your Fungal Species Recognition Aid
Mushroom Identification, developed by TheFrenchSoftware, is a full version application available on Android that serves as an aid to recognize different species of mushrooms. The app comes with a warning that it should not be used to determine edibility, and any mushroom that is consumed should be evaluated by a professional.
The app works by using the camera on your mobile phone, which captures images of the mushroom and presents identification probabilities. These probabilities should not be considered exact, as the algorithm is not perfect and can give overvalued probabilities.
In addition to the recognition functionality, Mushroom Identification also includes a wiki with descriptions of over 300 species of mushrooms, photos, edibility, date of growth, and more. It also features a calendar of species indicating the months of picking, a photo gallery divided into "Favory" and "History" (your hunt), a card from your own collection with access to photos from the cloud (requires Internet), and a list of mushrooms that are growing now.
